Dr. Ruben Medrano

Dr. Ruben Medrano knows big city life on an international scale, having grown up in Argentina and lived in Toronto. And that's just why our small community suits him just fine. "City life is too crazy," he says. "I love living in a small peaceful community where you can get to know just about everyone."

A board-certified internal medicine specialist, Dr. Medrano currently serves as our Chief of Staff. In addition to caring for patients, that means he serves a critical administrative role: "presiding over meetings, conducting discussions and helping solve problems with the other physicians. I also serve on several committees dealing with critical care, the by-laws and pharmacy."

"My goal - and everyone's goal - is to improve patient care, and that requires commitment to the Mission and working as a team."

Dr. Medrano is married to Louise, who teaches Spanish at Monmouth College. They are the parents of two spectacular sons ("for which my wife deserves the credit"): Julian, a law student currently in Cambodia doing human rights work, and Daniel, who is studying architecture and engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
