OSF Holy Family Announces New Facility President/CEO

News Releases | Patty LukerWith the pending retirement of Mr. Donald Brown, current President and CEO of OSF Holy Family Medical Center, at the end of this month, we are very pleased to announce that Ms. Patricia Luker has agreed to succeed Mr. Brown.  Ms. Luker (who does like to be called “Patty”) will be the new Facility President/CEO effective Monday, July 20th and will be reporting to our Western Region President/CEO, Mr. Richard Kowalski.  She will be working along-side Mr. Brown until his last day on July 31st.  

In her role as the Facility President/CEO, Ms. Luker will plan, direct, control and evaluate the healthcare facility’s activities within the framework of policies and delegated powers and responsibilities established by the Board of Directors of OSF Healthcare System.  She will be responsible for directing and supervising the healthcare facility activities through competent administrative support staff and Department Managers.  Additionally, Ms. Luker will be providing assistance to supervisory personnel in establishing department objectives, determining staffing needs and standards of productivity.  Under the direction of Mr. Kowalski, she is responsible for overseeing the adequacy and soundness of the healthcare facility’s financial structure.

Ms. Luker has a proven track record of accomplishments and awards that demonstrate her commitment to each organization with which she has worked. She has made positive and dramatic changes in all of her positions and built strong and successful teams in each of the organizations. In her previous positions she has been able to develop positive and cohesive working relationships between the Board, Medical Staff and employees in order to move each organization prosperously into the future.  

Prior to accepting this new position, Ms. Luker comes to OSF from the Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton, IL having served as the CEO from March 2003 until just recently.  She had total operational, fiscal, and strategic accountability for this 43 bed municipally owned critical access hospital and Provider Based Rural Health Center.  During each of those six years she guided the Hospital to a positive net bottom line averaging ,000.  During the previous five years, Ms. Luker worked for Quorum Resources as the CEO for Franklin Foundation Hospital in Franklin, LA where she had total accountability for the hospital and seven owned physician practices. Within the first year she improved the hospital’s financial position from a negative bottom line to profitability.

Patty earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University in 1983 and went back to IU to complete her Master of Science Degree in Health Care Administration in 1993.  She is married to Robert and they have three children, Jennifer (25), Jonathon (18) and Julianne (17).
